Cloud computing is expected to be as transformative for business as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or as e-commerce has been in recent years. Almost all the major IT companies have started to integrate cloud computing in their business models. Cloud computing enables a broad range of benefits for public and private sectors including, cost savings, access to organizations of any size and in virtually any location to computing power and software previously only available to the largest global companies, increased agility and speed for deploying new software solutions, and job creation. However, there are challenges to cloud computing for reaching its full potential. Businesses today are looking to technologies such as cloud computing, mobility, social networking and big data analytics to drive a new wave of innovation. Customer expectation from ecommerce systems have evolved significantly over a period of time. Today, customers are expecting a better and faster online experience that closely matches the in-store experience. Customers have access to several social networking mediums, which they want to utilize to get more information and opinions on the products to make their decisions. Businesses are facing a tough task in matching these increasing consumer demands. It is not only important for business to have an online presence but also to keep the online presence updated with the latest technology and business trends. Cloud computing through its different service models; address many technical and business challenges in building and managing modern ecommerce systems. Ecommerce have many benefits with cloud computing also face many threats which require more consideration .To have strong business base with the migration to cloud computing the following things have to be considered value of shifting IT, performance security, availability of risk to cloud service provider ,demand scalability, cost and time to market advantage.
As per Gartner report – by 2013, 40% of ecommerce deployment will use a complete SaaS ecommerce solution, 90 % of ecommerce sites will subscribe to atleast one Saas based service such as product reviews, product recommendation or social capabilities.

Objective: Automated segmentation is an active research for medical images. Accuracy of automated segmentation methods plays a vital role during brain image analysis. Segmentation being an important area of research, determining its performance is also important. Gold Standard is required for comparison during segmentation evaluation. Method: The Gold Standard for segmentation of medical images is the manual drawing of region of interest. This manual tracing is performed by experts (radiologists). The deviation of segmentation when compared with the experts and the quality of segmentation are inversely proportional. Analysis: The quantitative methods indicate the performance of the segmentation methods when compared with Gold Standard. Evaluation metrics mostly fall into three categories: Area Based Evaluation method (Dice coefficient, Jaccard Coefficient, Relative Volume Difference, Volume Overlap error), Surface Evaluation type (Average Symmetric Surface Distance, Root Mean Square Symmetric Surface Distance, Scatter Plot) and Specificity, Sensitivity and Accuracy. Keywords

The control of prosthetic limb would be more effective if it is based on Surface Electromyogram (SEMG) signals from remnant muscles. The analysis of SEMG signals depend on a number of factors, such as amplitude as well as time- and frequency-domain properties. Time series analysis using Auto Regressive (AR) model and Mean frequency which is tolerant to white Gaussian noise are used as feature extraction techniques. EMG Histogram is used as another feature vector that was seen to give more distinct classification. The work was done with SEMG dataset obtained from the NINAPRO DATABASE, a resource for bio robotics community. Eight classes of hand movements hand open, hand close, Wrist extension, Wrist flexion, Pointing index, Ulnar deviation, Thumbs up, Thumb opposite to little finger are taken into consideration and feature vectors are extracted. The feature vectors can be given to an artificial neural network for further classification in controlling the prosthetic arm which is not dealt in this paper. Keywords

Background/Objectives: Thanjavur district- “the Rice bowl or Granary of Tamil Nadu” is one of the 32 districts of Tamil Nadu in South India and is well known for its domination in agriculture, architecture, music, arts and handicrafts. The author, a native of Thanjavur district, is of opinion that the district have not realized or understood its real potential to promote agro and rural tourism though it has many of the features required. Methods/Statistical Analysis: An exploratory cum descriptive study has been carried out by the author to identify the existing potentials for promoting agro cum rural tourism in the district. Details required for this study were collected from different sections of the society including Government Departments and experts through direct interviews, field visits, focussed group discussions and the findings were summarised and presented in the form of a case study. Findings: It is very clear that there is immense scope available as such to launch immediately the Agri cum Rural tourism in Thanjavur district. The district administration with the help of Govt. of Tamil Nadu and Govt. of India should take immediate steps to launch the project. Applications/Improvements: It is important for the government, society and the affected people to find out alternative methods of income to sustain their livelihood. Launching of “Agri and Rural Tourism” project in the district will benefit all sections of the society and the nation and hence this study assumes greater importance. Keywords

For the first few decades of their existence, computer networks were primarily used by university researchers for sending e-mail and by corporate employees for sharing printers. Under these conditions, security did not get a lot of attention. But now, as millions of ordinary citizens are using networks for banking, shopping, and filing their tax returns, network security is looming on the horizon as a potentially.
